Bet his engine is getting some lovely clean air though and on the positive side, he'll have a lovely quiet car and won't get nicked for speeding.

TBH I was looking at the pic wondering what the problem was, the guy obviously didn't know where the filter went and it fitted where he put it so that's where it ended up.
That thread sucks so hard, even the "Fail" pics are the poorest I've ever seen - most of them using the incorrect "your" instead of "you're", in summary the entire thread is a waste of internet ink and wwwpaper
I give it 3/10

You have to appreciate the irony of someone going to the effort of making a "You're doing it wrong" pic, and doing that wrong.

Plus it's closer to the cold air coming in from the grille.
But the fact is the guy left the panel filter in didn't he?

he should of took the restrictor pipe off that the cone filter is connected to and removed the air filter out of the air box

Wil he need to re set his ECU once he's done that?

it will lose some power because the cone filter is not that far away from the exhaust manifold it won't be this bad this time of year as the incoming air is cooler but when the weather gets hotter then it will suffer heat soak
