Because if you dont drive like a pleb why would you need winter tyres? I for one have never changed my wheels/tyres for winter or summer, because tbh Ive got better things to be doing than worrying about whether my tyres are too hard cos its cold outside

Yeah, but winter tyres have nothing to do with snow!? The only tyres that work in snow/on ice are spiked tyres, and theire illegal in most parts of europe.

Regular tyres (even, and perhaps especially, the more expensive ones) are designed to work with a certain temeperature. When the temeperature drops below 8 degrees celcious regular roadtyres loose their grip as they harden.

I think the view is that we don't have extreme weather to warrant the expense, that said people do seem to disengage their brains in winter a drive like complete fuckwits.... changing tyres will not change their driving!

no need.

less grip in winter means you don't drive the same as you would in a baking hot summers day. (there are chav exceptions of course).

As Ben said, you just adapt to the weather and drive accordingly.

Never had a problem with tyres loosing grip after 8 degrees. There is a lot of friction between the tyre and and road too!

Most people here have their summer wheels and tyres, then a set of steelies with the winter tyres on. So once you have them, the only thing you spend is an hour changing them at most.

to be honest I am worried about the durability of mine in the winter months. Need to get some sealant on them asap. You are still gay though.
