Diesel costs more to produce but i think the petrol station only reflects this by a couple of pence at most.
I think it is to do with tax. The gouverment know that diesel do more mpg than their petrol rival. SO you are going to fill up less, inturn paying less tax.
So they win you over buy saying tax on new diesel cars will be cheaper so buy one, then knowing that they are going to rob you on the fuel!

Look at diesel in europe. is 20 english pence cheaper on average than petrol as the gouverments want to bring down their emissions. Deep down ours dont give 2 fooks providing the money is pilling it as we are skint due to our other expences...like thinking we can provide for everyone all over the world! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

1.06.9 for me at the weekend. Deffo getting another petrol car next, although thats mostly because im going to be doing much less miles.
