because Christmas is what its called?! The values and tradition are christian based, that doesnt mean you have to believe in God to celebrate those values. Those values and ancient traditions are from Christmas not winterval.
Your apathy for heritage saddens me!

Heritage is fine- Christian heritage is another matter. Imo Chritianity has not been a good influence on the world- and continues to cause many problems. I was baptized, christend and confirmed, went to a catholic primary school and I dont want to celebrate christmas as a religious festival. For me its a time to take a break with family and friends and try and help others who are not doing so well in life. I dont see why taking the word Christ out of it is such a big problem.
Do you go to church at christmas, are you actually celebrating the birth of christ? If not than I think you are a bit hypocritical to accuse me of not caring about heritage. Its got nothing to do with heritage, I am not a christian therefore I dont give two shits about their heritage or that of any other religion. Anything that diminishes the influence of any religion on our lifes is a good thing in my opinion

You're right, they do know where to go but why would they? We'll just give in and cancel xmas just for them bastards.
This country is a fucking mess.
Can you actually read?
None of the religious groups whether it be hindu,Sikh or Muslims are oposing this they never have?
The one is oposing this the local authority yet again making the whole thing worse causing unsettlement. They are just covering their asses with mindless bearocracy.
Think to 10 years back you would never hear about this and beleive it or not there were still other ethnic groups living in this country. Just the whole PC issue has blown up.
Everyone loves Christmas regardless of whether you are Chistian or not, everyone gets involved in the festivities and buys each other cards and presents regardless of their beliefs.

The same rumour gets posted every year and in reality it never seems to affect anyone. Its probably not even true.
Come christmas day none of you will be sat around caring about it.

Some people in here, dr pepper and the people blaiming muslims mainly, are missing the pont by a massive margin.
The stupid pc council are banning the use of christmas (hence why the thread is titled that, not sure what bit you didn't understand) and even the muslim community is disagreeing saying christmas is a time for everybody be them christian or not.
I hope you don't celebrate anything to do with christmas dr pepper, I bet you do though

I walked into somerfields at lunch today and they have tinsel and decorations up, i doubt anybody will notice if the word Christmas doesn't appear anywhere. It's not like they are going to withdrawl all decorations/cards that mention it
