Vts/GTi is a good bet, gti will hold its value better, puntos cant go around corners but are good fun

buy a french can mk1 vts etc for peanuts. Nice and quick and fun. plus if something breaks you can fix it for cheap as you have the tools and know how

That's a pretty similar description to my car except mine is an XSi You really will be astounded by how fun it is. And quick for the power!
