The white JDM ones are nice but bloody expensive

I just wanna have a go in one to see if the lack of torque would really bother me that much

The interior in them is simply stunning with red everywhere and the red recaros looks lush as fook

Only other model that has the same interior is the 30th Anni models but unfortunatly they only come pre-facelift

How come they Produce Poor amounts of torque?

The reason i asked as my mates got a white one And my Cupra leaves it standing...

I drove it a few days back and you have to Kill it to go anywhere..

Torque is pretty poor, i borrowed my mates for a half day and it was a noticeable difference compared to the 2.0 i have.

Eck, catch me on msn if you still have me as a contact as i've got a type r.

I went from a 280bhp/330lbft astra gsi to a bog standard CTR and although it's slower (obviously) everything else more than makes up for it to make it a better drive.

Everyone moans about it having no torque, probably everyone who hasn't driven one. Still easily pulls itself up hill in 6th gear at 70 which is only 3k rpm.

It really is like having 2 different cars in one. You can ponse about doing 40 in 6th gear or you can scream the tits off it to the limiter.

The only things i'd say to look for would be noisy steering racks as they're made from what seems like paper maché and always check the oil level. It may be good that 50 year old mildred has had it serviced every 12,500 miles like honda ask but it probably would of been running on about 500ml of oil for the last 4k as they like a drop!

Hondata is a plug in for the ecu that makes it mappable. They do do a "generic" map for the CTR which is about £500 but i've never heard anyone say anything about them. Be warned though, KPRO isn't cheap and works out at about a grand once fitted and mapped. Does make a BIG difference mind, one of my chums has a CTR with full exhaust, header, decat, inlet etc and it made 250bhp and 170lbft and god does it go!

There's more room in my civic than there was in my mk4 gsi. more foot room for rear passengers as well as the floor is flat.

All a matter of opinion at the end of the day
