I think it was more about the explosions and fight scenes. The story was definitely lacking something.

Storyline was poor though! Tomorrow Never dies had a poor storyline, this from a storyline point of view is about as bad as that.
The problem wasn't the lack of gadgets, I quite like the idea of it being more realistic, making him more of an action hero that uses his fists works too.

Went to see this last night, was quite good I thought, action from start to finish, which is what I was expecting from what i'd read.
Not an amazing film but definitely worth a watch.
I can see why the bond geeks don't like it though, there wasn't any cheese or gadgets.

Id agree with that.
Also agree with whoever it was (not sure on here) that said you could tell it was the middle part to a 3 part type film. With Casino Royale being the first.

I'd agree with that also, wasn't really a whole storyline was it, too much action going on to tell a story.
I'd be happy if they continue going like that, maybe add a couple of fancy cars and phones in to keep everybody happy, I don't miss the cheese though.

I saw it, and was just like? Wtf this story line is so thin and crap. The ending was also shit.
Good film for action etc... but shit film for storyline / plot.
It just felt like an 'old james bond' i.e. the ones from a few years ago ...
- > Have car chase for no other reason than promote cars - check
- > Have thin plot revolving around a girl james shouldn't even be involved with - check
- > Have pointless fights / chases - check
- > Have the thin plot strung out for a while - check
- > Have a grand finale battle in a big boss style base - check.
poor.

I need to see it again me thinks, wasn't concentrating enough. Casino Royale was probably better though IMO. But i do think Daniel Craig makes a very good James Bond.

i kinda agree with that, but at the same time i think it was better that casino royale and the storyline was there as intended, Bond after some sort of revenge and doing whatever and killing whoever necessary to do it. Simple storyline but it was there, not all story lines have to be hugely complex to be a good film

i liked it. not true bond though. its more of just an action movie now, without any of the stereotypical 'bondness'
i was expecting machine guns and an oil slick ATLEAST from the aston

Yup... Autodelta kit
A funny story actually.. alfa related... they brought a "james bond" 159 out... but theyre not allowed to advertise it as james bond.. so its pretty much just a ltd edition 1.9 diesel

I seen it and thought it was ok. Not the best bond film but also not the worst. Action scenes were good.
For the others wondering about the cheese/gadgets etc.. I seen an interview with Daniel Craig and he said as they were gong back to the begining with Casino Royale and following on with this film. He/directors felt he needed to establish his own take on Bond before he felt he could be worthy to use the one liners and introduce the gadgets etc... overall a much darker Bond that may lighten up over the next few films.

he said in the next film they will introduce some gadgets and some of the cheese etc
ppl seem to forget this is the start of Bond so in essence no gadgets were around etc.
Very much a similar remake as Batman Begins and Dark Knight

its no secret that the story is streched over 3/4 films! Bit like those shit films in space...
Anyone seen octopussy?
Ian flemming made bond a cold hearted efficient killer, the cheese ir invented for the films! Glad to see the back of it tbh i cant beleive people miss that from a film
