My dad loves his Elise and just keeps saying to me, why are you bothering with hatches, your young, if I were your age id go for something 2 seater rwd, unless you have kids id say S2000 or Elise.

S3's arent actually that good 'out of the box' you will have to spend a fair bit getting the suspension and brakes to a decent spec before you can have some serious fun in it.

From experience id say either a DC2 Integra Type R or Civic EP3 type R, both have bullet-proof reliability and are super fun to drive from the word go.

You will spend alot less on a Honda Type R than you will on an S3, LCR, Ibiza etc..

TBH I would get a CTR at the moment, prices are brilliant will last forever and still look new.

I wouldn't see the Astra to get one, but if I had 5 or 6 grand lying around and needed a car I would have to seriously consider a CTR.

i would love a CTR too, but how reliable are they, since they are made to be ragged....bit weary now cos my corsa engines blown i wndt want to spunk 7k ona car to find out that engine is dead too
