We're waiting til next week to see if a ful engine comes available, if not we'll discuss options.

But to be honest, I'm not looking for more power, 320 was just nice for me, maybe up the boost a touch with the new components and that would do.

Last dyno was 320, but yeah, would be down on power. So it should be more fun when it returns.

5K seems abit steep?

Either way while its out get a mild street port!!

Stock rebuild from RX motors is about 2.5K or 3K with new rotors?

It's actually just under, but includes an all aluminium radiator. A lot of the price is down to the housings needing to be replaced.

Used engine, which is upto 30,000 miles old (half a standard rotary life), with no history and being sold by someone whose advert refers to "headgaskets", I'd rather pay the extra and avoid the paranoia.

you can a get a front end cut of a mazda cosmo 20b for around 3k (everything needed pretty much to convert)

a bit dramatic on the rebuild quotes there guys.

talking around 4k for a rebuild from most places, which means taking a full car there and they will remove the engine and do all the work.

on the other hand a rotary specialist will charge between 2.5k and 3k for an engine swap for a known good engine (but still unknown as to how long it will last)

i've got a good engine here, was on 38k KM's when i removed it. slight leak on water seal. its having a full re-build, got everything here ready. housings/plates are being taken out to pinnaple racings medium/large street port (advisable as you will get same power with less boost)

This £5k that I have been quoted is for the full job including mapping at the end to get it sweet, and the uprated radiator.

If I was just having an engine rebuilt then yeah, £3k is the ballpark figure.
