I'm still suprised pure carbon fibre (note I said "pure") is allowed on public highways without having to have a secondary, impact absorbing composite lay in the laminate, even down to something as benign as chop strand would stand up better in a crash

Would weigh more if painted.
And it stops cocks like VXRMarc going near it as there's no paint to measure its depth and create spreadsheets.
I'm sure he could pull something off with the lacquer
Probably his greasy haired mate.
I'll set 'em up, you shoot 'em down Sunshine.

carbon-titanium is the way forward - and I'm not talking about the marketing "carbon-titanium" used in tennis rackets, I'm talking about the Zonda Cinque's construction material

removing layers of epoxy from a pre-impregnated, mass determined, structural composite panel is a really good idea

One of my RC cars has it's chassis and sub chassis formed from this stuff. It's rather cool looking.

Oh and that's not grease Ash. He cleanses his hair every three days with zero ppm water and applies the finest Zymol shampoo. The apparent 'grease' is merely the fine lustre bought about by years of hearty wanki.. I mean waxing.

no, thats just a silver weaved Carbon fibre; the stuff I'm talking about 'electrolytically-adhered' bonds a layer of woven, aged, platinum coated beta titanium alloy to the carbon; the two are weighted so that they have almost identical shear and yield properties but for one hell of a strong material

You think thats bad, I've just got back from a week in North Wales, no internet, no mobile, no work. I ended up buying £80 worth of carbon and upgrades for my £60 kite I even had it delivered

I put 75metre Dyneema lines on because they sounded cool but its a stunt kite with about 2.5m wingspan so once it was in the higher wind thermals it was litterally pulling my arms out of their sockets
