The question is where can a convicted driver get insurance and the answer is unfortunately not many places. 18 + DR10 I would imagine means walk unless you're happy to pay more than the car is worth.
Can I ask that we don't debate the conviction while we don't know the circumstances. I've certainly heard of a lot of borderline cases and this may be one. Even if it isn't, it's spent, the points are assigned and the fine is paid. The system has already penalised this guy for years to come, we don't really need a CS thread doing the same.

depends what you class as normal...to some normal is 3am to others its 12/1 oclock..
1 unit takes 1 hour to get out ur system usually a pint dependant on strenthe etc is 1-2 units everybody is different in tolerance to beer, its a bitch to work out but when you have it explained to you it makes you think about what you drink.
cocktails are a killer as you dont know whats in it what strenght things are.
just think of a house party scenario...you dont measure shots in a vodka coke, sio its usually 3 or 4 shots per drink thats 4 hours to get out ur system u have 3 of these thats 12 hours to get out ur system fully. and thats from the point of your last drink roughly......i may be wrong as its a while since i took it all in

a pint is 2-3 units, stella being a full 3.
i dont think its too much to say on a saturday with the lads watching football you could get 10 pints down between say 4pm saturday and 2am sunday, so thats 30 units and to work it out roughly you will have alcohl in your sytem until 10.30pm on sunday

I'd like to be breathalised on a monday because on a saturday in less time than that I put away at least as much and i'm doubtful of being anywhere near the limit, if any alcohol at all come monday morning.

Quite obv not binge drinking springs to mind...that and your telling me youve never gone for a "few pints" with the lads and ended up doing an all day/nighter?
how do you get police, perhaps listening to people with dare i say it "experience" may help one of you out on here in the future.

In the UK the drink driving limit is:
35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or
80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood; or
107 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine.

thanks for people understanding here
Now forgive if i've misread this, but how did you get a DR10 if you weren't even in the car? Or were you absolutely hammered and arrested trying to figure out how to get into your car?

The offence is attempting to drive, not necessarily getting it moving.
Edit - not in a car could also mean other motorised vehicles. I'm sure OP will reply if he is interested in telling the story.
