M6 down crewe, a500 to Stoke, A50 to Derbyshire, it'll be an hour and a half to Derby probably.

It takes 45 mins from Crewe to Derby on the A50, it's a dead straight road with only a few roundabouts, it's a piece of piss. No speed camera's either.

A50 is terrible in places too, I never noticed that much in the Alto and Ignis that I've drove down there but my Corsa It's stupidly bumpy. I find it so amusing that there are signs up saying that parts are maintained by such and such a company. They're the worst parts

Oh, little tip too, if you're planning on coming off the M6 at j16, don't, carry on to j15. The A500 runs between both junctions but it's full of roundabouts, the A50 is much nearer j15, so it's quicker to go past j16 then come back on yourself. Can probably knock 15 mins or so off your journey if not more

The A50 has 3 roundabouts (Uttoxeter x 2; Ashbourne x1) in the middle, 1 at the either end and 1 at Blythe Bridge and the majority of them you can hit at 70+.

I have done it a few times, its only 100miles takes in-excess of 3hrs from where i am.

What about the M1?

Then the A52 Dual carriageway for 5/6miles straight into Derby centre
