That's gotta be hard for you, hope she comes out of it ok.

Must be hard, but don't blame yourself, accidents happen unfortunately.

Sorry to hear that mate. As for advise, I honestly don't think I would be able to handle your situation neither and would be doing the same as you.
Hope she recovers

We were going out when we were at school so weve always had a thing for each other.

She moved to Edinburgh and we always kept in touch. I kept hinting that i liked her etc but she never cottoned on.

She moved back down here and we got in contact again.

One day she text me saying she had a dream about me and we decided to meet up for a catch up as we handt seen each other for ages.

On the day of the crash i was actually thinking to myself how happy i was that we were finally with each other. Just wish i had said to her......

Hope she makes a swift recovery.
I know the sight of all wires and machines hooked up can be distressing but they are doing a good job at letting the body rest and recover more quickly. You stay for as long as you are able to and want to. Sounds silly but do not neglect your own eating/sleep needs as well. No good making yourself ill in the process for when she comes too.

in february 2006, my sister contracted MRSA from a patient at work. she got meningycocalitus sceptascemia (sp), and had TOTAL body shut down.

her body retained 85% of fluids, and she put on 6 stone in fluid and was in a coma from end of february 2006 until the start of may 2006.

i went to see her everyday, she had a tube into her heart, one into each lung, a catheter, and loads more. she also had a tube into some arteries with some special name like MVP or something. for weeks she did nothing but lay there, her body bruised and battered from being moved and having between 50-70 injections a day. everyday for 3-4 hours, doctors and nurses drained out fluid that her body had created and kept stored around her. the more they drained out, the more she created.

nothing happens, and days will come where you see her and her face is swollen, and as harsh as it sounds, my sister looked like a corpse.

you have a very tough time ahead of you my friend, best thing i can advice you is to get things like teddy bears, and put them under her fingers, wipe her forehead with a damp cloth, anything that can provoke a sensory reaction from her. even though she is on life support and will be comatosed, she CAN still her things that are being said. dont talk about negative stuff when around her, as she will here this and she will et frustrated that she cant talk back.

try and avoid wearing aftershave or any anti-perspirant that she will recognise, as this can send her into emotional shock, and cause her body to stress out.

i took a teddy bear to my sister, and placed it under her hands, and about a week later her finger was stroking the teddy bear.

chin up son, she is in good hands
