get about 20mpg driving round town, spend about £50 a week on fuel.
my right foot can be heavy, but most of the time i'm driving slowly which is why i can't justify the cost.
i can't really get to enjoy the car because i don't go on motorways or country lanes to work. i just take a boring 30mph route 4 miles to work
getting rid in april as that's when 9 months is up and i can give it back.

one think i will say is get one with the cambelt done already if you can as its a twat of a job and cost ya if you pay to get it done

Love mine,
Done 50k in it (on 78k now) and hasnt missed a beat.
far more reliable than any of the many vauxhauls iv owned (other than my astra van lol) and about 100x more fun to drive
Youve got to be into driving though to get on with one. There shit on the motorway and can be a cunt to work on
Im selling mine for about 3.5k, 02 plate, monacco blue

I had a 172 Cup when they first came out, absolutely loved it. I put loads of miles on it in a very short space of time and it never missed a beat. Sent it for a routine job at the dealers and they snapped the cambelt, repaired it badly and it literaly fell to pieces at 70mph on the motorway!!(much more to it but won't waffle on). Ended up getting rid for a silly price
As soon as my Astra sells I'll have another Cup

very good cars imo worked on a few of them now, and never had anything go wrong with electrics in our garage at all, done a water pump on one, couple of cam belts, rear main seal on one, inside of them are very nice outside of them i prefer the face lift models with the different style front bumpers

Basically, it went in for a new powersteering pump one morning. I was told it would be a few hours and to call at lunchtime to see if it was ready, so I called at lunch and they said they were running a little bit late and to call in an hour, no probs i thought. Called back as they said and was told the new pump was on and they were just going to try it and give it a clean, call back in an hour, 20 minutes later I get a call to say its not 100% and to come and get it in the morning! Anyway my missus goes to collect it in the morning and they tell her they were just pulling it out of the workshop and the cambelt snapped and did we want them to fix it!!!! er, to fucking right your fixing it!!
I tell them I want a completely new engine, they say no as it was a fault with the car blah blah(belt was only 5k old), went to citizens advice, didn't get a new engine but was repaired free of charge. Picked the car up 3 weeks later and on the way home the power steering packed up, they hadn't even changed the fuckin pump the exact reason it was in the garage in the first place
At this point me and the service manager are not on great terms lol and most communication between us is by letter Anyway they pick it up and take it in for the new pump to be fitted, I collect it next day(Crimbo eve) and all is well On Boxing Day me and the missus and 2 other relatives set off on a 3 hour drive to her parents house, just get on the motorway and going about 75mph when it feels like I've hit a brick on the road, car swerves a bit then loses all power, I pull up on the hard shoulder and call the AA. When the guy turns up I tell him about the power loss and he says it sounds like alternator but couldn't explain the bang. So I pop the bonnet to let him look at the alternator, he looks and the fuckin thing isn't there!!!! They'd not put the bolts back and it worked its way off the mount fell off and I ran over it!!!
There's more but I feel like Paul J so i'll stop here

Love mine, done 21k in it with no problems.
Servicing and parts can be a bit pricey but at the end of the day its a small price to drive something that is properly driver focused.
I went from a XE'd Corsa and a mk4 Astra GSi and never looked back. I will prolly have to sell mine on account of doing 20k in less than 8 months so need something more economical but will deffo be back for another

Again as stated, ive gone from 3x corsas to Smart Brabus roadster, Lupo Gti and Mini cooper S works to 182 cup and can honestly say its the most fun to drive out of all of them. at a vauxhall owner commenting on build quality. Would be hard to find more car for the money IMO,you can get cup suspension, cruise control, climate control, half leather/ recarros(if your lucky like me), xenons all as standard, as well as a car that goes from 0-60 in under 7 seconds with no mods at all.

seem to be getting 50/50 views then.
the reaseon why i asked about them is that i did not realise how cheap you can pick them up for.as i have been planning on getting the 1.8 sri C next summer but seen that these are basically the same price range.
my mind has been going crazy for the last 8 moths since i started saving for a new car.
iv considered....
corsa c 1.8 sri
corsa c 1.7 cdti sri
golf gt tdi 130
clio 172
astra mk4 gsi 2l turbo
astra mk4 sri
i cant make mind up
i wanting something thats fun to drive, nippy and is cheap to run, reliable, decent mpg.

It's only the most fun if you like driving that more than the others.
