Cavey - Yeah we're all doing this, as well as going to local markets etc. Local yard got done over a while ago, owner went to a market to buy new stuff, found all her nicked stuff there! Some of the saddles nicked cosat £1000-1500 alone!
Horses are often nicked to sell on else where, or for meat. Luckily we have insurance, passports, and microchipping etc, but if its gone, its gone.
Jules - yeah thats what my mam/partner/other lasses up the farm have said. Depends on the type of theif, might have disturbed them. We think they have been disturbed, possibly by the horses kicking off because of the stuff left so we've just wiped the place out incase they return. Police are on there way up the farm for 8pm this happened between midnight at 5:30am.

oh, and massey ferguson isnt a tractor

Land rover was recovered yesterday by police, we dont know what state its in yet, just that forensics have it. No sign of our tack yet but it's a start. police think they know who did it, it's just proving it. After our farm was done over, they used the land rover to steal a quad bike on a trailor else where. We're going to local market thing on sat with feeling our tack is there, but whether the people who stole it are there, or if they sold it on to someone else to sell we dont know. Just hope forensics come back with something

tbh it was most likely pikeys, they do it aroud the yards here. you wont get your stuff back, it would have all gone to sales by now.

but yeah if theres a local market you can just go check stuff out, then its worth checking it out. hopefully your insurance can pay a bit up to help everyone out.

we had a break in at a yard we was at last year, my mum had left the saddle up there the night before for someone riding our horse the next day. it wasnt stolen, but funny thing is the box that had a padlock on next to my mums stuff and didnt have any tack in, was broken into and all its contents just chucked on the floor - as there wasnt anything of value in there. except they didnt even check my mums stuff that wasnt padlocked! because they see secuirty and things like that , then they will know somthing is there worth stealing. except they was wrong in our case.

its scary though, because next time it might not be material objects, you start to feel quite scared for the animals

We definately think they were disturbed by the stuff that was left. Even if we get our stuff back, everyone has bought new stuff now.
Found out today, 2 men have been arrested, but as far as i know, they'll just get done for handling stolen goods, and we havent found out if it's our stuff yet or not.
We're all petrified for the animals, but we can't be there 24/7 although i would be if i could!
Only 2 people's insurance is paying out, and they're both claiming off house insurance i think for contents cover
