There is a couple of people round here with them. I normally hate Dogs and general pets, but they are gorgeous things. Really nice to look at.

sorry russ but you seem to think that i dont know how to look after a dog, well we have both had dogs before when we were young so we know what it takes to look after them i was brought up with a GS, and we have spent alot of time looking into the breed and talking to breeders

they are Joe, they look immense. but they were bread to live at -50. if you have a husky dog team in the arctic, they will sleep, outside, in -50 and not give a fuck, they wont even cuddle up to each other. they were trained and bred to run away from human shouting, so you can never ever let it off a lead unless your in a fenced in place, as it will run for the rest of its life, which is usually as soon as it reaches the road, and will play chicken with a car or lorry as it has no fear at all

moral of the story dont let it off the lead, altho some breeders do train their husky to walk off lead altho i dont think i would

what is a GS? i presume you mean GSD? i have one of those, i walk her at least 3 miles a day, and then on a weekend we do about 10 miles, luckily thats off lead, you'd have to walk 10 miles a day, on a lead, with a dog, that is bred, to pull and pull and pull. your kids wouldnt be able to walk it, as they'd be on there face. i have nothing against you, in this post im thinking of the dogs life that will be ruined. get a grey hound.

"In Character Huskies are gentle and playful but wilful and mischievous at the same time. They tend to get bored easily and don't really like to be left alone, which is when the howling kicks in for attention."

they also dig and love to eat furniture when they aare bored. i'd love a huskey, more than any other dog, but it would be unfair

i really dont think you have thought this through. why not get another dog first, get your kids used to them, used to exercising them. thats why a grey hound is perfect, the ex racing ones are free/cheap and they need a 15 min walk, and thats it all day. they are clean and very friendly, with people and other dogs

oh, why didnt you say, if your kids arent scared of dogs anymore, you should by all means get a fukin energy ball that will jump all over them and pin them to the floor while playing, i retract all my previous comments. it will be 100000% exactly like the trained guide dog, who was bred to obey, then trained and trained and trained by experts
