Carl, start tonight and go early mate

I promise that it isnt life changing, my mum, nan and uncle all lead a full and healthy life, drink a moderate amount and treat themselves to stuff they like once in a while. My mum has even got fitter (no MILF comments please) because of it.

And as said, there WILL be a cure

You will have to have an eye test as well

One of the complications of diabetes, it causes problems with the little blood vessels at the back of the eye. 'Diabetic Retinopathy'. Which in the well controlled diabetic is not a problem but important to monitor as can be treated effectively if there are problems detected.

Yeah, predisposes to peripheral circulation problems.

The fluctuating blood sugars, ultimately, CAN, cause problems with the whole blood circulation in the body.

Thats why it's important to keep a stable blood sugar level by careful diet/exercise (& Drugs if necessary)

This is the information leaflet I recommend to patients;

http://cks.library.nhs.uk/patient_information_leaflet/diabetes

Though there are many out there some good and some pretty inaccurate and poor!

Won't be "loads" of blood tests surely mate? I had 2 little pots (nice and technical) taken from me.

Try not to worry too much, as many have said, it is only life changing if you make it life changing. If you get control then you will be fine

They'll just take a couple of samples of blood then send them to the lab and you'll get the results a week later.

Surprised they didn't just get a nurse in the practice to do it.

Had it done before, for the same sort of symptoms, nothing wrong with me apparently.
