Might give the groundbut oils a go, if it doesnt work can always cook with it instead
With heat guns i assume a hairdryer isnt hot enough?

Just don't put too much on at a time.
Heatgun needs to be pretty hot, but dont stay in one place for too long as you'll get melted patches lol.

No I assume you would just apply a bit to a rag then massage it in?

Pretty much, yarp.
Another good way is Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel...
Apply think layer, leave to soak in a bit, heat with heat gun, apply another layer. Seems to work well.
Black Wow is awesome but pretty pricey (but does last a bloody long time)

Yup, I've got a silverline one which was only about £15 which works fine.

Yeah, when I use my oil I put a bit on a rag, rub it on, go round the car, then when I get to the beginning again, go round again and give them a rub with a dry part of the rag. In theory it should stop it looking and being sticky and oily, and as far as I can tell it works I work in a pretty dusty place and they don't get covered in it any more than the rest of the car.
Before and after pics of my worst arch, and as a bonus, my trim that, thanks to the toll bridge, has seen better days. The colour balance is a bit different in both pics, but that's because of my phone camera.
