thats not a fact imo
As a general rule a double engined car will have 2 times more power than a single engined car. I guarantee if there were both types on the road in a 50/50 split there would be more accidents involved with the double engined cars, that's common sense.

There may be no reason but you'd admit they'd be proportionally more prone to being pranged than a single engined car with less power?

Yeah, but that's an argument about power, not amount of engines.

it isnt illegal.
there are MOT/SVA rules about fire resistant bulkheads between the seated area and any engine bays and i think there are measurements to determine the distance from passengers to engines.
touchable hot bits and sharp edges would also be considered but it certainly isnt illegal.
nice copy and pasting

By outlawing 2 engines they indirectly keep higher powered cars off the road?

Ive heard that running two engines is illegal but having a twin engine'd car isn't illegal at all. As long as adequate equipment has been put in order to make only one work at a time.
Perhaps twin engine cars are allowed if they came from factory like it??

was watching fifth gear recently and they had a small car like caterham or something along those lines, and they was a company who specialised in making twin engined road cars they used two gsxr 1000 engines in this particular episode, but they were on the road testing it

is it a 2 ltr 8v?
would you not ideally want same engine in front and same in back with same ratios on gearing and speed etc? just would seem daft if there not doing the same thing at same time if anyone gets me

It took about a day to knock up and then after todays of wheel spinning round in circles the engine fell out as we only spot welded the whole front in the back

Not necissarily.
BMC used 2 different engines in their Twini Moke, there was a twin engined Golf Rallye a few years back with a 2.8 VR6 in the front and a 2.9 VR6 in the back.
If anything, you want less power at the front so that when the front lifts under acceleration, you don't lose as much power through wheelspin, if you see what I mean?
