I may do a bit this afternoon after i've had a lunchtime nap

Sounds like my sort of day

Although we've got offices opening up soon so I think rolling in at 10.30 everyday may get noticed

Same, we've just started negotiations on a lease for a converted barn out past speke. I have said i'll go over approximately 2 days a week (depending on what we've got on) and work the rest from home the rest of the time

I didnt get a pay rise more than inflation but you dont see me striking

Lets be honest, sitting in an office all day blowing the vodafone trumpet isn't exactly hard work compared running around like a loon collecting peoples wheelie bins.

Cosmo - "You do realise that all you knobs getting higher wages will cause inflation to rise higher and higher and fuck us all over even more!!"

Yes because council workers are single-handedly going to cause the recession in the UK! What a load of betty!

600,000 people are striking/or after higher wages of around 6% (just under 3% turned down already).

Its called wage inflation, look it up. Im not saying it will cause it, but at the current time 600,000 people all getting around 6% wage increases will really help fuck things up.

Personally I would never go on strike whilst being employed. I would do one of the following things:

1. STFU and get on with the job, rise above all of the whinging idiots that are complaining about not being paid enough and do my very best in the job I am in and aim for promotion. This will give me the extra money I want/need.

2. Find another job that offers better wages.

Its as simple as that. If you are in a job and not making enough money its not anyones fault but your own. You took the job, signed a contact of employment and accepted the wage. It is very unlikely there was a clause in the contract saying you could have a pay rise if inflation rises. Get over it, get on with it or get a better job.

and dont get me started on unions.....

I bet you the non payment for these 2 days will work out more than your rise so effectivley you are losing out.

When we (Court Service) went on strike over pay disputes thats whats happened, people ended up with less money overall than they got extra in the rise.

Now some stupid cunt has come on TV saying that because the 3% increase is less than inflation he is taking a paycut.

No its not you fucking wanker - your job and the prices of goods are not linked in that way. You are getting a 3% increase on the wage you earnt the year before. The fact goods are more expensive now means shit, as its the same for us all.
