anything that improves road safety is a good thing, shame about the costs though could put many off biking

Its not really improving safety though if you think off it?

How many people ride/drive like their on theyre test on their own on a normal basis..not many.

Ive been looking into getting a 50 as soon i get my licence back nxt month, scooby will kill my finances day to day so 50 is for going back and fore to work scoob for weekend fun.

And i had a quote for a 50cc fully comp off £98...but i am 25 lol

most 125s wont get above 60 by much, only the two stroke rs 125. most will do about 55-65 depending on weight of rider and if you know how to ride it etc.

do you not want your full test? bear in mind it changes at the end of sept?

125s are good bikes. cant go wrong with a cbr imo

Three of my mates have DT125s and they sit at 60 comfortably and piss all over my 1 litre up to about 70.
But then a derestricted rs125 will crack 120 with the right rider.

My aerox 50 when i was 16 used to sit comfortably at 60mph.

it did have a 70cc bore kit and a few other trick bits though

Im looking on Bike Trader and I can get a brand new YBR125 for £1700. I like the look of it and have been reading some reviews, seems perfect for what I want. Is this a good price? Its an unregistered 2006 model, delivery miles....

Also the DAS - £1000 I was thinking of taking it simply so I didnt have to find the time or money to stump up every 2 years for a new CBT (stupid idea every 2 years maybe?)

edit - Ive also been out picking the brains of the local bike shops. As im only 20 if I took the DAS I would be on a restricted license right? I didnt think to ask if you have to take ANOTHER test when I turn 21 to allow you unrestricted? Cos im not 21 till Feb and if it meant saving £550 I might think about it?

Im just reading round as well, even though ive got a full car license do I still need a provisional bike license? Cant seem to find an answer anywhere, maybe im not looking in the right place, but all the questions appear to be from 16 year olds who wont have car licenses yet

I always liked the look of the Hyosung Comet 125. Looks like a 600 and is one of the biggest 125s.

Not looking for a bike to thrash though mobby, if I want to go fast I will go and do another 911 Turbo day (145mph ). If i have a bike capable of stupid speeds i will do them = too dangerous for me

if you go for the 50cc routeget a 2 stroke the 4 strokes are seriously slow.
if you go 125 get a aprillia rs or my fav a cagiva mito.
the uk mito's are restricted to 13bhp but can be derestricted by grinding a restrictor in the exhaust off and fitting bigger carb jets. the evo models are imports from italy and have 33bhp as standard so i would just get the evo less annoying if you want to derestrict the uk one. even if it is illegal how wil the police ever know as long as you stay at below 35odd when they are about.
another option for better insurance is the yamaha dt125 nice 2 stroke not as back breaking on long journeys as the rs and mito and you can drive in fields and shit aswell.

According to the shops ive been in I need to be looking at 4 stroke 125cc's as they are more reliable which is what Im looking for. From what ive been told the RS125 and the Mito are the 2 strokes of choice for little chavvy boys to rag about, therefore making them unreliable used, and they are too expensive to buy new, and the engines have a habit of seizing as well?

hi mate

at 20 you cant do the Direct access

you will take your a2 restricted licence which you have to hold until youve been riding for 2 years, this means you can ride any bike restricted up to 33bhp though its up to you if you restrict it, illegal if you dont but its done often.

yep 2 stroke 125s are usually given death because lads want to go fast on a cbt even though theyll be riding outside there licence with an unrestricted 125.

4 stroke 125s are all you need until you get a big bike imo

and no provisional needed if youve got your full car licence, though you still need to do a theory test.
