You should get a lower end IWC for that if you look hard enough.
http://www.2000watches.com/vshop/detail_default/productid_325501/index.html for example

oh my god it may be because i could afford to buy one and tbf i never wear watches as my phone tells me the time. but seriously is there nothing better you could spend 2k on than a watch bearing in mind all watches do the exact same thing (given some have weird features and bits but basically they all tell you the time).
all in all i dont really see why people would want to spend silly money on a watch as tbf who really notices?

I couldn't bring myself to part with 1500 quid for a quartz watch.

I appreciate the mechanics of the watches, some of them are amazing inside, a quartz one is basically the same as any electronic watch though.

If I had the cash I would have a few nice watches. It feels so right having a nice watch when your wearing a suit

Agreed,
But if you pay any more or less for an automatic you are paying for the name and the servicing bills will be plain daft.
This is my daily watch....cost around £500 and I leave the big money watch for special occasions these days

I know I was saying that to someone the other day. I could spend more, but at the moment I dont know if I could justify it to myself

Im getting a Tag Formula 1 Chronograph as my everyday watch. Can pick them up for £650 - which I think is a very fair price.
I have a U-Boat, but its too big and bulky for everyday wear.

I love nice watches...
People who say..."why would you want to spend £2000 on a watch?" I say to them why do some people want to spend thousands on a piece of plastic kit that makes there car look like something from Star Wars...
Horses for courses...

To answer the question:
I got myself one of these not so long ago

It was quite a bit mnre than your budget...but its worth it...the craftmanship is awesome.
I have always wanted one.

I'd like a nicer watch, but since the one I have on has small scratch marks on etc I would invest silly money into a new one.
One I wear for everyday is a DKNY that the missus bought be for crimbo. Bought £100

Get yourself a Fangio Carerra limited edition.
It looks great, can be worn as an everyday watch or dressed up. Won't depreciate much if you ever sell it in a few years time too (providing its not scratched to buggery).
50 of them in the country, one is one my wrist
