You have a point ed, it would go as far as an aeroplane coming in to land no problem, I won't be doing that though.
People who do that at night are stupid on 2 levels, one of them being the fact there will be a green beam leading straight to where you are.

Recently one was shone into the cockpit of a landing airliner coming into Edinburgh. The Police are investigating.
Somone was stupid enough to shine one at a Police helicopter, and got fucked over.
Two people are in prison in Australia now for shining one at a Quantas airliner. Can't remember all the details.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is so bad about shining one at an aircraft?
just cos it might distract the pilot?
He should know better than to look into the laser anyway...

It's blinding, I don't think they have much choice about looking directly into it when they aren't expecting it.

I tried a couple in daylight but all you can see is a green spot on my wall, totally useless, i'll try harder when it gets dark.

I got my dad one, he uses it when he goees fishing for when swans and ducks go near where he is fishing, keeps them away. Ive lost count how many times ive nearly killed the neighbours cat with it, making it run out infront of cars
