Mine's on my top lip, looks like a have been drinking blackcurrent all day

There no treatment for it.

Apparently just a "pimple" on the scar tissue , doesn't explain the big red mark though

GP was useless couldn't understand a word he said and was in there for less than 2 minutes

Hmm. The tissue (scar tissue) is called granulation tissue. And sometime does do funny things e.g. colours, tougher areas, itching etc. deep down etc. But usually after non surgical wounds e.g. Glass/Sharps accidents, not usually from a well executed surgical procedure.

Over time (a good few weeks) granulation tissue does settle down and all should come back to normal then. I guess the main thing is not to be worried which I know is difficult when you've got a lump of skin doing peculiar things!
