at 17 i think you should be on £3 a hour then 19 you will be on £4 then when your 20 you will get £5
Iirc...
Can you go to the store's and get me a long weight?....
Lol one of the work experience boys were actually daft enough to fall for that one.

take some of the best advice youll ever get and stay well clear of any apprenticeship in the motor trade matey.
even do a search on here about motor trade apprenticeships, u love cars now, in 5 years you wont and when your mates are all making more money than you and you have very little prospects for the future and your stuck doing the same crap, coming home from work dirty etc and working to times, ull realise its a shit job
not trying to burst your bubble, well done, but i was given this advice but wouldnt listen, all i wanted to do is fix cars. now im stuck with it more or less its the only things i know and i hate it

Minimum they can pay you on an apprenticeship is £80 a week.. £320 a month.. they may decide to pay you more..
Good luck with it.
I've been looking everywhere to find an electrician apprenticeship, sent CV's off to everything, had a reply from Wabtec Rail. unsuccesful, Doncaster council had an interview, but was unsuccesful..
It sucks

Have to agree with STEvieXE.
I done my 3 year apprenticeship at fords and i can happily say ive never had a job in a garage.I hate working on other peoples cars for shit pay in the cold and wet.
After i finished in ford i worked in a call centre.
I just hate that i wasted 3 years on an apprenticeship now. everyone i was in college with one day a week, only one of them still work in the motor trade

There's a lad round here who's now 30, been in the trade since he was 16. He's just about to open a garage up with his mate.
I'm not sounding nasty, but I think that is where the real money is for mechanics, as the money isn't great. It should be, as people allways need their cars doing.
I'm sure once their garage gets up and running they'll make some £££.
They've both got houses and one's married, so imagine how hard they've had to save for it!
(Rob the garage is going to be on builder street, next to the tyre centre)

your definately right there, but with every year cars get more and more dependant on fancy equipment to repair/diagnose etc
