Worrying about MPG
The only thing is if you start knecking night nurse all the time you will become dependant on it you may not wake up very easily for work either.
I used to have a couple of massive swigs of night nurse when I used to get home at like 6pm from parties

On a serious note, i either watch a film or read a book, both get me sleepy in no time.Or have a furious wank that will tire you out.

Don't drink caffeine after 12pm. If you have to, drink tea not coffee.
Leave at least 1 hour before having contact with electrical equipment i.e. phone, computer, internet etc.
Work out - go for a run after work or something. I've never had trouble sleeping and I'm the biggest worrier there is. If you're tired enough, you will sleep.

Someone told me that ejaculation releases a chemical in your brain to aid you going to sleep (or something along those lines anyway)
Oxytocin.
Makes men fall asleep, but the reverse in women, hence why they want to stay awake chatting/having more sex when all you want to do is release a victory fart on her leg and make a noise like a gang of Brazilian rainforest workers sawing trees as you snore.
But back on topic, try having a hot shower, then going to bed naked. Sometimes works for me, as you cool down you start to drift off. Don't be tempted to read etc, just get comfy and picture a black curtain in your mind.

Don't knock it til you've tried it.
Careful on the victory fart though, if you put too much pressure on you're risking giving her a poor man's fake tan.

Any professional would tell you to get rid of the problems by clearing your head rather than drown them with drugs.

People don't ask for professional advice on CS though do they?

As far as medications go. The current guidelines are to prescribe sedatives only in the short term, for very specific problems. In all honesty, I rarely prescribe them unless completely avoidable, they are full of problems.
The main advice I give is about getting into a set routine. Reducing anything stimulating, (so no TV, cigarettes, caffeine, alcohol etc.) Usually recommend soak in bath, glass of milk, bed, possibly a book for ten mins, lights off...
THis wont help right away, but with same pattern ever night you'd be surprised how man people find it very effective.

No, just the every day questions of why does my girlfriend hate me? Should I get a house and is this mortgage about right? How much prison time am I looking at for this? and were the Police right for preventing me from driving my shopping cart at silly speeds whilst listening to the latest volume of bonkers with my 15 year old girlfriend (Whos also pregnant).

I ask a sensible question to seek some advice from fellow human beings. Not that I'd expect some to understand.
If I was ill and an insomniac, then I'd go see a Dr.
But, I'm not, just some night I have trouble sleeping becuase of my overactive mind. I just wondered what other people do when this happens to them. I.E. if there was an off the shelf remidy for helping you feel sleepy (ie Horlicks that has been suggested) or any little things that people do before bed that help.
