Tints that you can peel off aren't standard as timbaland has said, it's always 17 year olds sitting in their cars doing nothing for some reason as well
John, YOU DONT KNOW THE FULL STORY. DONT MAKE COMMENTS LIKE THAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THE INCIDENT BACK IN JAN HAS AFFECTED MY LIFE. AND YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED!

Wise words of Ian . I wasnt aware there was anything on the car that i could get "done" for. I was sold a standard with factory fitted extras. Fiesta zetec-s TDCI on a 56 plate! Its hardly a boy racer, young immature image of a car is it now

Why not tick the option on the ticket for it to go to Court so you can dispute it?
You dont have to accept the ticket you know.

Was the copper trained on how to use the equipment properly, most oficers arent.
And was the equipment calibrated, you can ask for a copy of the calibration sheet.
Dont pay it or take them, go to the police station say what happened etc..id take your old man..i had trouble at 17 with the police all the time..they wouldnt lsten to me at all so used to take my dad along to the cop shop theyd listened more to what i had to say with him there.
I certainly will be looking into it, cheers for the info bud!

Most cops, if its a front window tint problem, will make you rip off a large chunk and let you be on your way, this way he knows your going to pull the rest off or look like a twat.
Definately dispute it, you believe the tints are factory fitted and personally havent modified them, you complied when asked to take them off yet still got points.
I said to him, i can peel them off here and now if that can be done. He said doing that would interigate his practice and is an arrestable offence in its self!

So can they be pealed off or not?
If they cant they're factory fitted and should have a etch on the glass to say how m,uch light they let in.
If they can they're aftermarket tints and most probably illegal.

Sorry, thought i made this clear as i said about having to peel them off at the road-side. I guess they will be aftermarket tints. I had no idea that they even had film on them to be totally honest with you... They seemed only very very vert light like hardly anything. I was sold the car by a ford mechanic as a standard car. Who would have thought.
Whats next, not aloud to drive with sun-glasses on?

You had illegal tints, stop being a moany wee badger and take it on the chin and pay the fine and take the points. Ignorance isnt an excuse in the polices eyes for mods "oh sorry officer I thought my 1.0 12v corsa engine looked like this and just happened to be really fast" doesnt get you off for having an undeclared XE converstion.

This thread is a 1 man 'pro' to upping the age at which you can drive. If you're that immature to believe you're being victimised when you have illegal tints on then you shouldn't be allowed behind what is potentially a very fast chunk of metal, especially a td zetec-s.

i have exactly the same car as you only petrol and i can confirm that they never came with tints from factory that you can peel off.
the only option on the extras is privacy glass, which is £100 for the rear 3 windows.
as timbaland said, you can't peel these off as they are smoked glass.

Does it matter? Front tinted windows are illegal whether you agree with it or not?
I'm sure there are copper sout there like the one you described but i cannot for the life of me think why they would be so interested in persecuting people in the way so many people on here describe

i'm not having a go mate but at the end of the day, it's your duty to make sure your car is road worthy, not the previous owners now you own it.
sorry mate but that's how the law works

I think you need to stop ranting on a public forum, attacking other members and get down to the station to try and reason with the police.

Was just an example, keep your wig on. Didnt even know you had an XE corsa anyways. Good luck with that though if the local police already think your a tosser and like to pull you for random things.
