Shell deliver to more than just shell forecourts...dont they sell to some supermarkets too?
With this in mind, a fair few garages will be running low, pushing demand on other garages higher, and therefore pushing the price up.
Also, if Shell have to pay tanker drivers more to deliver the fuel, then the fuel will cost more to get from the refinery to your petrol tank...and where will this extra cost be placed? at the pumps

i posted this last night.
6am friday-6am tuesday. all because they want more than a 6.25% pay rise
nothing to do with fuel prices. shouldn't affect me though as i filled my car up last night. will last me 2 weeks so it's all good
if it was a protest over fuel prices then it would be great, but it's just another way for the government to get more money.

Never said it would stay the same.....Forever!
If your company gives you a pay raise does your customer see a raise in product price? Mine certainly doesnt as we have charge out rates. in theory Tanker drivers wouuld be classed as an Overhead i guess therefore it should come out of thier Profit!
And yes i have also thought of joining in the protests as well!

it's a bit different giving one person a pay rise in tesco's (which i very much doubt would make bread go up 1p or so) than giving every fuel tanker driver who works for shell a pay rise.
it would push prices up a little, couple pence per litre probably.
also, the panic buying and the press saying how bad this shortage is going to be will push prices up too.

TBH is it ever going to stop? Are the government just gunna drive this country into the dark ages again by depriving them of fuel, food, heating, housing?

Quite often on the roads before you wake up to well after you go to bed so I think there more to it than the black and white picture you paint. Plus the risk of carrying highly volatile fuel?
Want to moan at people in regards to pay rises talk to the jockeys who work on the underground....

No need for that is there?

Agreed with the fact they're working long hours and carrying pretty damn explosive contents so the pay reflects that.
I just filled up with £43. I'll be filling up again before the end of the week

£36k isnt a huge wage these days, long hours, tough/skilled work (not anyone can do it!) danger aspect - you'd drive 100k a year with virtually a bomb attached to the back of you knowing at any moment you could be vaporised for any less

as said its the distribution that cant cope atm not the manufacture.
Biggest issue i see is the government will keep tax / prices up so we start to reduce the amount we use and meanwhile railroad us into other 'better forms of energy' like electric cars etc. Shame really but we as a country just dont have the moral responsbility to look after our own country and that covers pretty much everything in the modern climate, littering, recycling and even eachother.. its crazy!
i honestly think its very unlikely we will see the prices come down for a very long time if at all..
