To be fair, if you are worried about getting an "in fashion" tattoo, then i dont think its the best idea to get one as its there for life and fashions change. Get something that actually means something to you!

Koi in artwork (because of their fight to swim upstreams to breed) represent strength and the ability to overcome obstacles in life to achieve high goals. Back in Jan 2006, I got arrested for being a naughty boy, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it COMPLETELY turned my life around. I gave up all drugs (smoked weed every day, did speed pretty much every day and did a lot of coke and pills too), pretty much cut out alcohol alltogether (used to drink every day too ), gave up smoking in November of that year, repeated the year at uni and went from getting 17% (the only exam i did the first time round) to 73% after working my ass off, gettin gthe 2nd highest mark in the year. I also took up swimming 18 months ago (about 1,000 lenhts a week  ) and have an incredibly healthy diet now, ive lost 34lbs and gained as bit of muscle too, generally getting fit.
I got the tattoo as a personal reminder of all thast ive done so far to turn my life around, and that the only way now is forwards. Aside from the main reason, my mates take the piss saying ill turn into a fish one day cos of all the swimming, so its kinda fitting cos of that, and i also love koi keeping, its a big hobby of mine and ive got 18 of my own in the pond i built at my house

Reason i asked for the picture, was that i have been planning one for a really long time(koi), mine will be on my arm though, extending a little bit onto my chest, will be my first tattoo, cant wait

I was considering having the tattoo done for about 18 months, i didnt just decide to get it and then justify it afterwards I even made a thread on here about 10 months ago, before I got it done.
