But also if you haven't paid it off in 25 years it gets wiped i think

Yeah in 25yrs it'll be wiped, but I expect most will of paid it off by then unless you earn under £15k for most your life!
And dont pay it off, put your winnings in a high interest account (that has a higher rate of interest than the loan - easy to find) and then pay it off as normal.

I've looked at it and that interest rate can drop, i'm going to put the value of the loan in ISA's and savings accounts, and build some interest up that way

You say that. My mate at Uni, from an EU country, has 3 differently spelt surnames on 3 different documents, because of the English translation the Uni insisted on, so like, they get away with stuff
