Hmmm it'll be interesting to see what Colin's advice on this one is
Jade, from a females point of view, am I being a cock?
Not really, we were in a similar situation a few weeks ago. Invited to an engagement party. Colin wanted to take the car, so he wouldn't get wrecked. I didn't want him too cos I didn't think we would enjoy ourselves if he wasn't having a drink.
He didn't take the car in the end.....................oh how I wished I'd listened too him, he ended up totally hammered and acting like a prize cock
think thats why the missus wants me to drink really as I am fairly shy/quiet.
I think what I will do now, is get hammered and make a dick of myself.
Cheers for the advice

Free beer. it a no brainer for me mate, go get wrecked and have a laugh. In my experience its not often you can have a night bankrolled by the missus!!!
2 problems there though, I dont think she will pay enough for me to get hammered. But if she does, and I get hammered, then I wont end up going to work on monday (always have mega hangovers) which is why I dont wanna drink
That solves the problem though, she doesn't give you enough to end up wankered, you only have enough to go to that really happy giggly inbetween stage
on the other hand if you do get hammered just man up and go to work with a bottle of lucozade and a box of pineapple chunks. sorted

You have three reasons not to drink -
You are skint - she is sorting that
You want to lose weight - so you better hide that avatar pic
You have work Monday - if you regularly go to bed early and don't drink before work then fair enough, you're just doing what you always do. I don't think this is the case though?
She just wants to have a good time.
I really do see the point that self control is having nothing but that is self control too far. Can you keep the self control but also loosen up a bit and actually have a good time with your girlfriend.
I actually hope you're joking about work coming first. You work to live, not the other way around.

To be fair I only acted like a cock because you contested my judgement that it would be a better idea to go on to a nightclub than to go home to bed, I had been fine up until then. Respect me as the Alpha male & I wont act like a penis

It's actually quite interesting the points of people from on here. Seems everyone has a mnetality that if you dont have a couple of drinks you cant enjoy yourself? Interesting.

If you have work on a Monday you don't get slaughtered on the Sunday, simple rule yet doesn't fly in the face of what you're saying. There are plenty of other time's to get drunk that don't interfere with your livelihood imo.

That isn't what I'm saying, I'm saying your justification for driving is all wrong.
Of course you can have a good time without drink, I do it regularly particularly if getting a taxi isn't practical - I just don't think you saying you want to lose weight and do well in work are the greatest justification for not drinking. You said yourself that you are quiet and shy and your girlfriend perhaps knows this?
She's made a judgement that you need a drink or two - she might well be correct, but that is the point that you need to argue, not the other stuff.
Did you actually reply and say 'I can have a good time' at any point?

She or I are not suggesting that he should get slaughtered though. Just not sober. You know - two or three? Too much to drive but given that it is a Sunday, NOT slaughtered.
Two or three the day before you are in work shouldn't interfere with your livelihood - when did you become a pilot Ryan?

I've personally never seen the point in 2 or 3 which might be my entire problem. It's either on the wagon or off it
