What, you don't think 189bhp and 192lb/ft wouldn't be quite impressive in a car which weighs about 950kg, when the car which the engine comes from weighs nearly a third more and still manages to do 0-60 in under 7 seconds?

Even with a simple remap, if you bothered trying to get the standard management to work, you'd end up with 220bhp and 240lb/ft in a light car and believe me, that's not a recipe for a car which you'd call "not all they rekon to be" TBH.

Whats the benefit of using the VXR lump over a freshly rebuilt let or even z20let?

its a lighter engine less likely to under steer round corners and also cheaper than buying a let and rebuilding it

Engine mounts are a piece of piss too, as the block is the same as a Corsa Sport.

Well, I say it's the same as a Corsa Sport one, it's similar, it's not an X16XE, it's a Z16XEL or something, but it's identical, structure wise.

I'd quite like to put one in a B.

Exhaust manifold might be an issue, as in, it might get in the way of the mount if you were to use an X16XE one, but it shouldn't be too hard to overcome, even if you had to fabricate a new mount it wouldn't be too bad, gearbox side it's easy as you could use an F15.

The wiring is only hard if you try to use the standard management, which I don't see the point in as it's not going to be as flexible as aftermarket.

Mounts would become an issue then, you can't use the standard Corsa ones AFAIK.

Even if it is possible to use the standard management, I still don't see why you'd want to, it's an added complication which makes a relatively simple comversion a lot harder, for no gain. With aftermarket stuff, you can give the car 220bhp straight away, without having to mess around with an off the shelf 'remap'.

If you use an F15 and some aftermarket management, it should be an easyish conversion, that's all I'm saying, although I do agree about the M32.

yes mate i see what your saying but surely if you use after market management its still going to need mapped

i would only use aftermarket if the cost wasnt huge. eventually i'd probably step up to it

I reckon you'd spend as much having the standard management wired in, then a flash remap done to give you the same power as the aftermarket stuff, supplied, fitted and mapped, in fact, I'd be surprised if it didn't cost more to do it with the standard stuff.
