He must be riding round like a big lady man if he only ever falls on his bum.

If he was racing it and came off the bike flys 20ft into a tree and you roll down the mountain.

Is this Dalby just 15 mile?

I posted Steve's first comment on the local MTB forum.

First reply: "They are blatently taking the piss, that is not for real"

Done it before, doing it again. I'll try and get some action shots of me. Oh and trust me, no piss is being taken. I'm not saying all this to be big and clever. I just don't like having things on my head.

You won't like having a head then if you fell off properly.

I've seen a website that studied the damage of helmets when falling off. Someone had a pretty slow crash, i.e. on the road, going about 10mph and a hedge branch got caught in their wheel. They fell off, landed on their head and completely smashed the helmet to bits.

If they didn't have the helmet on, it would have been their skull, end of.

If you come to Chicksands and you're not wearing a helmet, you will get told to leave and prevented from riding.

And helmets these days are very comfortable, not like the old shit I used to wear when riding my bike when 7.

There's no excuses imho.

off topic, but i rememeber when i was a little kid about 10 or something, me and my mates rode into some woods to find this 'awesome' place everyone used for bike stuff.

it was just like a massive crater in the middle of the woods, like a huge bowl with loads of dips and lumps in the middle. So people would come down the side into it with speed, then hit the ramps etc.

We went in had some fun and then couldn't physically get out we were only little kids, weak, short and unable to carry our heavy bikes back out

even with 2 of us trying to carry 1 bike the slopes were too steap for us

thankfully some bigger kids helped us out

Just a random related story

er? what do you mean? my home is really rural, surrounded by fields, woods, parks etc.

I don't actually live in slough by the way. I live above it about 5-10 miles, but no one knows where that is.

But if you land wrong with a helmet on you could snap your neck. Dead. Either way, you'll have a headache in the morning.

25 miles to go till we're there.
