they've had a huge crackdown on bikes in and around the peak district this weekend - helicopters, cars, bikes the works - there were also two murders last night but apparently the police only turned up 5/6 hours after it was reported

i was watching QI the other night and i remember Stephen Fry told a story of a photographer in L.A who befriended a police helicopter pilot in order to get some aerial shots..
So anyway he goes up with the pilot and after a while hes chatting away, theres a constant ting noise, he says so is that radar or something making that noise?
the pilot replies no thats gun shots
apparently everytime the helicopter goes up over L.A criminals shoot at it, so much so that it has an armoured belly

Brothers neighbour is the navigator for the Beds, Herts & Thames Valley (> Chiltern Air Support Unit <) and it's out and about quite often - can't miss it as it's blue and yellow! He usually has some funny stories everytime i see him - like how a guy kept phoning 999 saying how he locked himself in the house because he had seen a UFO flying around. CASU get the message, fly over, put the search light (5 million lumens i believe) on and start doing search patterns around his house. Whilst they're wetting themselves in the heli the poor guy was apparently shitting bricks on the end of the phone to 999
