Save £75 a week from my wage, then 50 for rent, and then the rest is just for me to use when I need it.

Had things to save for this year so have saved but spent it all on the things I've saved up for e.g. Holidays / Spending money etc.
After that I'l be putting atleast £500 a month away fingers crossed towards the new car fund!
I can only save for something I intend to buy, as its more pleasing to pay for it yourself than bang it on a credit card / loan!
So if I don't have something in mind to buy I'l end up just throwing a whole months wage away on anything and not realising its gone!

Nah I'm shit. Only reason I saved money last month was cause I didn't see anything I wanted. But otherwise if I see something I want I buy it. I need to start really.
I also have no clue where half my money goes.

don't usually save but i don't really spend money on alcohol or anything as i don't really like it.
i will save money if i need to, but i have about £720 outgoings each month at the moment and everything else just gets left in the bank and i'll take it when i want/need it.
probably save about £850 a month just because i'm not silly with my money, which, when you add it up over a year, is a lot of money

I've always saved cos of how I've been brought up, got left in charge of my own money from a very early age so if I wanted something, I had to buy it myself when I could afford it. Since buying my car I've generally just ended up saving up for things then when the money's there I buy whatever it is I've been saving for but since September I haven't really had a proper income and I've been living off previous savings, which wasn't a lot but it's amazing how little I actually spend.
I still live at home but don't technically pay house keeping, I do about 8 hours work a week for my dad unpaid instead, only really use my car for business use so petrol gets paid through the business, maybe put the odd tenner in here and there if I've been out for a drive or something. My phone barely gets used apart from business use so that comes out of the business, so it's just the odd bits that I buy, stuff for my car, clothes etc. although it's usually easier to avoid that by not going shopping, winner

I have started saving this year, put my student loans away and some of my wages i had left over, i also like a bet and have been winning quite a lot lately, so been putting that away also
Not really saving for anything in particular, although a big win would pay for my next car

I'd like to think I'm good with money - I over pay my mortgage by £200 a month; after we've finished renovating I'll overpay by the maximum allowable of £499. Thats split between me and the missus though.
I don't like having less than £1500 in accounts here and there; especially with having a mortgage as if I quit/lost my job etc I'd like the buffer to pay the mortgage for a couple of months.
But in the last 6 months, the missus and I have put £13k into the house renovation but I see the house as a bit of a savings account
