we moan, and the rate that it's rising is shocking, but if you buy a litre of water from a petrol station it costs more than a litre of petrol, so it's really not that bad for what it is.
Comparison Clarkson made - the whole process that goes into actually 'making' petrol, and it's quite a bargain!

You're kinda forgetting that we get water on tap... for free as well as bottled water.
It think its safer to say that bottled water is stupidly expensive.

Still annoys me how my car is .1g/km over the £35 tax barrier Oh well, my emissions are lower and my mpg is higher than you would find on a Toyota Prius at least.

It's not quite a bargain when you think about it at all, the fuel companies are making billions and billions from the 30p or whatever they get so that's a crap argument.

Agreed I seen on a program the other day that the actual refining process and costs stays constant and have been for years. It's the barrel of oil price that goes up and this is passed onto the consumer as well as the government tax piss take. Shell and whoever still manage to rake in record profits year after year

lies, they have rammed up the price of cooking oil now, the cheapest I can get anywhere is 86p a litre and that is buying it in bulk at costco.
I used to be able to get it at 56p at tesco a few weeks ago but they double the prices the bastards.
