Do you think they use ones they can get in Halfords from the Ripspeed corner?

Do you also think brakes on supercars never crack/warp?

drilled discs arent as bad as people make out .. but if your gonna use them hard .. warm them up gradually and dont just go stonking away on the brake pedal

My EBC ones did, they also cracked around the "holes", my black diamond ones warped too.

I then used standard GM ones and they didn't.

Even the ones on my Hispecs have gone shitty around the holes.

I had a set warped on my 1.2 8v

Guess that happens when you have to brake hard and late to conserve the speed you built up

Oh, by the way, I wouldn't buy shit looking wheels made from shit metal, that would be incredibly stupid.

I might buy some shit looking wheels if they were very light and very strong though.

Robin - you may think the discs were warped! But what do you think has happened to the cast iron... has your braking got the discs soooo hot that it will deform cast iron? Didnt think so

It is more than likely that it sjust pad deposits being left on the disc (from hot pads being left clamped etc).... this forms heat spots and an uneven surface, giving the vibrating pedal.

This may sound horrific but i cure my 'warped' discs (I warp them nearly every track day) with an angle grinder and flappy wheel

trust me

Adam, the run out gauge where I used to work confirmed they were as bent as Graham Norton.

You could see they weren't straight.

They were 236x20 EBC "uprated" ones, when I removed them from the car, they were visibly bent, it wasn't just the pedal juddering, they were actually not straight.

They weren't any good anyway, they'd fade if you looked at them from afar.

Im with Robin on this one.

I have sold may brands of brake discs, some have been good, some very poor. I have NEVER had any issues with Brembo discs, so I have stuck with them and sell them by the boxfull, extremely well priced and have some nice features you dont get with cheap so called 'performance' discs.

Anyway after all this ive bought the 40 Grooved, Vented front and solid rear.

Will i notice the difference? Also im aware of how disc's wear etc, my car has brake ducts as standard too.

My Quiksilver seemed to have warped, worn disc's so i changed them and i still had the exact same juddering, and it turned out to be the brake servo unit, Very Common on the Rover 25's
