Trades are the worst for foreigners taking over, as matt allready said they charge less so everyone uses them, even 5-10k less a year is alot more than they would earn where they come from.polish people are hard grafters too, quite alot of foreigners are so they allways get hired first as they work for tuppence, especially as labourers.

The college I attend is packed out with them - some cant even speak english, they are a strain on the ecconomy. We should opperate a points system like Australia!

so is it of your opinion that if there were no people coming in looking for work then we would all be better off?

i think its more the fact that people flood in and can claim benifits, which the govn. pay. and getting translaters at schools and prisons, things like that.
but i do agree with the whole doing work for less business.
if i ran this mess of a place, id battern down the hatches and latch the doors. unless there was a prim and proper reason to be here. we are an island, we should use it to our advantage.

i agree, alsyum seekers (afgans, nigerians, tibetans etc) do come here and put far too much pressure on services like NHS and housing, but i feel it has nowt to do with this recession.

As colin said people have been too quick to pay for the new tv on credit, the abroad holiday etc etc.

but its mostly the banks fault, for example 2 companies that we deal with have gone into insolvency but banks are more than happy to give them more money when they change there name by putting a UK, or European etc at the end of it.

One company took a £70,000 delivery of diesel on the thursday, on the friday declared bankruptcy, on the Monday started up again with a name change, and when shell went to get the fuel back as they wernt going to get paid for it, they couldnt get on to the land as it would be tresspassing. UK laws need to be changed so Bankruptcy etc are not soo easy, Germany you loose your houses everything until every one is paid off.

Well considerin a large chunk of the uk budget gets spent on all these people coming over id say it pays a big part yes, as i said before if they didnt take our jobs more uk citizens would probably be in work, resulting in us not contributing as much towards this(maybe?)

My exerience was the oppoite, I was 1 week in a job as a Electrical Planner for the council, practically just out of college & found myself correcting a polish Sparks mistakes. He spoke very little english only nodded his head & smiled dispite the fact he had just been informed his work could kill children

Highways had taken him on paying half what a UK worker would get & he thought he was a millionaire!!

Theres a polish guy where i work and he can hardly understand anyone.Me personally, i dont take anything on credit, i have no credit card, nothing on finance and i allways pay for everything cash.If it takes me a while to save for it then so be it, id rather wait than be in debt.I have around 1100-1200 left over every month for myself so id like to keep it that way.

It wont be long untill i see many places closing tbh..

We currently have 2 polish techs working for us, they cant do anything apart from PDI's and basic services, and cant speak much english.

Worst thing is our company like many others wont increase the basic salary of technicians, and are wondering why they cant find any techs willing to work for the crap pay they offer, so they have to get immigrants in from all over to try and fill in (badly)

I cant see it being long before hard working british nationals are out of jobs in favour of migrant labour

Its shocking colin, like i said before there is 60+ polish people working at a big hotel near me, probably working for about 3 pound a hour which they are quite happy with.None of them will quit as they want the money badly and they wont get fired as they are hard workers and they get payed next to nothing. So theres 60 jobs the local village is loosing out to because of them.

They get welcomed with open arms, money, jobs, housing etc while there are countless uk citizens on the dole, jobless, homeless.
