Those men get beaten because they are woman beaters... there is a difference. Domestic situations are a different kettle of fish...
a man who beats his wife or girl friend is a sick fuck yes, i think your missing the point here somewhat!

Therefore you are saying men and women are not equal, that they should be treated differently and therefore your putting yourself in a position of being sexist!

So your telling me if people who lived round by you, even if they knew you hit that women back in self defense would see it the same way you do?
I think not

I am sexist i was brought up in a traditional family where the women stays at home and the father works.
My mother never had a problem with it or my grandparents?
Id rather be sexist than hit a women tbh

I'd never hit a girl, was very close with my ex, but ended up putting my foot through a door instead.
Retaliation or not, it's not acceptable.
I got slapped a few times for spilling my drink on a girls new top. Needless to say, the rest of the pint of guiness went over her head. Now I'd call that acceptable

Yes, in the industry that i work, colleagues would fully support my actions if i was strike someone being male or female given the above example that i made earlier.
I ve been in this situation many times when people have shouted at me to get involved in a dispute between a woman and a man, when the bloke is being seen to restrain a woman and she is shouting and screaming. What these people fail to know is that 2 mins ago the same girl who is now playing victim was punching and kicking this bloke in the face. Its a sad state of affairs!
Also just like to add, nova_gteuk these remarks and comments are nothing personal i just want to inspire people to join in with the topic as its something that does interest me!

Dean_W regarding both examples you have given. It would be out of order to strike either one back!
I d never hit my gf as i know she would never hit me and i fully respect her!
As for being slapped for spiling a drink over someone... petty on her behalf but wouldnt call for some brutal unleashing of violence towards her! LoL
My point is, in a situation of self defence would you retaliate?

No worrys mate,i dont take the net personal.its your opinon which is fair enough.
Maybe your colleagues see it that way,but i doubt your neaighbours etc would.
I know of someone who hit a girl round here before because she kept slapping him, after it happened he wished he hadnt,he was being picked on all the time get beatings off local people,in the end he moved to cardiff.i know the local copper and even he had no sympathy for the boy lol
Hitting a girl is unacceptable round here and would just cause more trouble,so its just not worth it.
plus i just couldnt, goes against everything.

I hear what your saying but these again are in a very domesticated situation, which is totally different in my eyes to being out in town.
I would never hit a girl in a domestic situation but if the situation arose when i was at work i would.
Bearing in mind i ve been a doorman for nearly 2 years now and in my life i have only ever hit 3 people all of which were male. It takes alot to make me snap... and i mean a lot!!

Domestic situations are always the worst! You can kick out a bloke for being rough with his mrs and the next thing you know you have some psycho woman flying at you with her stilletto heel aimed for the back of your skull!!
I threw a guy out for having his gf up against the wall by the throat and hurling abuse at her... she was in pieces, a complete state and the following week, happy as larry she comes trotting in with him... Strange!

Very tough one. I'll be honest in what I say here........i'd really want to smack the hobag. As I dont' like being hit.
But in reality i'd walk off, taking a beating at the same time or not, i'd still walk.
Whereas, say it was some psycho with a broken beer bottle (worst case) or something that could do real damage she would get a smack in the face. Sorry to say it, but I think that's what I would do.

Before my parents got divorced my dad broke my mums nose by headbutting her
I was too young to understand the circumstances surrounding it all.
Cant say the going to bed every night aged 5 to age 7 to the sound of shouting arguing and crying was the best time of my life!
