A few of my mates went last year. They went for a laff and to get stoned. They had NO intention of shagging hookers, infact they were dead against it, as most had girlfriends etc.
In the end they all smashed in about 3 hookers each. They said they got there and couldn't resist. They were too FIT!
Theres too much competition there.....mingers don't/won't make any money, so there aren't many mingers.

yeh the RLD is sketchy as fuck
word of warning to anyone going - do not even talk, or make eye contact with the street dealers, and do not get ur wallet or phone etc out.

Amsterdam is awesome, its something else compared to other international cities. Absolutely crammed with people all hours of the day, red light district is quite cool, seeing the women in the windows and doormen trying to tease you into various clubs with random sales patter.
I stayed on a campsite about 3-4 miles out of the centre, was 5 euros a nite. There was also a free minibus ride twice a day that took you to just outside the center where you then caught a bus into central station. Only problem was getting home, was about 25 euros between 4 to get back each nite.
Anyone who hasnt been just wont understand the experience, definitely somewhere you have to visit.

Yer I wouldnt fancy walking alone at nite round there, the street dealers were cool as long as you said no thanks, they were polite back, got that tip of some random scottish tramp who latched onto our group and decided to give us his advice and charge for the pleasure. It was quite funny seeing 4 blokes lined up in a shady area asking if you want smoke, crack etc..

with regards to amsterdam being dull without being stoned dont forget its a capital city so its just like a weekend in london,paris etc lots of shopping and sightseeing to be done with lots of decent bars and nightclubs aswell.
i spent my 21st there and although i did alot of smoking we did alot beer drinking in traditional dutch bars/pubs in the day aswell as sightseeing etc and bars and clubs at night
amsterdam is good if you go for weed and hookers but go out on the bars/clubs at night and its perfect. where else can you smoke weed in a huge nightclub after double checking it with door staff on the way in

tbf the ho's in dam are alot more expensive than other countries, for obvious reasons. But yes 70% of them are STUNNING and if i wasnt with my gf at the time (now an x) then i would have been seriously tempted.
Budapest is cheaper, £8 for a suck...............

Then you've got the Amsterdam dungeons, Maddame Tussaurds (*sp), Floating Chinese restaurant; Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" restaurant; Theres an Argentinian Grill restaurant just off Dam square which is brilliant.
The red light district is not like the UK; its clean and really busy! Some of the birds are really hot - they just sensible and realise they can make more money as a prostitute than as a lawyer/doctor etc. Some even are lawyers and doctors during the day, but double/treble their income by pimping it out at night. Some are dog rough though; but they're on the back streets.
I don't go to smoke pot etc but I've been four times now; the food, drink and atmosphere is really good
