Id be confident if I put a pencil between his pincers he'd easily snap it.

They are similar to crocodiles in the way that they have no muscle to open their pincers, but alot to close it.

They break small shelfish shells and all sorts.

Yes, and if you break the claw off then the claw jams in place and your finger will probably drop off. Crab fishermen often have a missing finger or two.

I was talking about this with a mate the other night, funnily enough. He said if you cut the claw off then it'd release What a bullshitter!

How do you get them off then? Just have to wait til it fancies letting go?
