Yeh biker was killed, he came round a corner and the car lost control as he stopped the bike came round the corner and straight into him if i remember correctly.
I remember reading that whole forum thread, was really interesting and opened my eyes a bit.
Think he served 6 months in prison didn't he? Then spent the rest with an ankle bracelet thing and had a curfue?

That was an eye opener that one Tam, the guy was clearly a very astute and clever person as well, would have made great reading as a book which i think he might have been contemplating if i remember right?
[Edited on 11-04-2008 by Hammer]
Yeah it was pretty tragic, the fella was a bit of a literary genious though and the way he explained it all was excellent, really well articulated. Hence the people saying he should write the book.
IIRC he agreed to do the book but the victim didnt want him too nor want the money so he was struggling on the profiting from crime aspect

He didnt kill anyone, but the biker was physically unable to live the same life... struggled with walking and talkign or summat

death caused by dangerous driving x 5 (full jail term)
banned for driving for 3 years (post realise from jail - if he comes out)
cant really have much sympathy. it wasnt a mistake, he has a licence and therefore should no not to 1) speed 2) overtake dangerously 3) not cross a solid white line 4) speed round a blind bend 5) speed round a blind bend on the wrong side of the road 6) speed over a crest 7) speed over a crest on the wrong side of the road
there was only one outcome with behaviour like that.....alot of "mistakes" to be making....he knew what he was doing, speed can be "mistaken" for up to +10mph prehaps, and i know he was only doing 5mph over, but clearly if he was overtaking his speed was greater than the rest of the traffic - nothing he did as the driver of that car implied it was a mistake

This guy took a risk and 5 people paid the ultimate price for his stupidity.
As others have said, he will probably wish he had died that day too, but at the end of the day, it was HIS stupidity, the 5 who died were innocent victims and he needs to pay the price for that!
I'm still learning to drive, but I think a lot of people, if they were being honest will have at some point 'taken some sort of risk' whether it be speeding or whatever when driving but got away with it - what happened here should be a lesson to us all

Sadly he wont get much time.
My mate her boyfreind and his mate where killed by two boys racing on fabian way in swansea.
The two boys who where racing and basically killed my freind only got 4 years for death by dangerous driving.
They where even released early.
This country makes me sick tbh.
