Edit - need to check it's allowed of course?

I'll do it.

Does it specifically have to be a production car? Or could you build your own 'kit' (e.g. haynes locost or similar) car?

Can't see you making a kit car for a grand. Robin Hood Sub-K kit for example costs less than a thousand quid but you still need a Sierra donor car and there's nothing in the kit for finishing or painting. Plus I'm not even sure you'll get hold of that kit any more. The new stuff from the new owners of the company is a bit more 'modern' and therefore more costly.

sell the leather interior, strip it. fit a single bucket seat. Up the boost, uprate suspension, brake pads, tyres if in budget.

how are they competiting in the actual competition? I didn't read about that.
Is it 1/4 mile? auto test stupid style course or actual track driving?
would be better if it was actual track driving, and obviously the tighter the track the better a hatch would do. but if it's all straight lines then a higher powered car will win.

perhaps all the people who are interested in creating a car to represent WR should put their ideas forward i.e. what car, mods, costs...
we put a poll in the WR section and get the WR community to vote for who we want to represent / which car we think would be best?

I don't think we want a awesome car being driven badly, or someone turning up in a shed with WR stickers despite driving it well. etc

I can see the car pool sharing idea ending in tears maybe have teams withing WR then that way you would feel comfortable parting with money.
or
Maybe Ian can be ring leader and we just do continuous polls as what to do
