I was a 'gatherer' for a tour guide. Meant selling the tours and reeling off the schpiel about what happens on the tours. Not really 'legit' work as its not taxed etc but its ok for a short spell  I got stopped by the Carabinieri a couple of times but they just check your details to see if you have any warrants etc and your on your way. They can be dicks if they want to be though.
