Saxo's to me seem a hell of a lot flimsier than Corsas.

You cant judge a car just from a mate having it in my opinion you need to live with it for a week then judge it, once again the car's are built to the same class IMO, you will get good and bad ones.

No danger

My wifes old VTS felt better built than my corsa GSI did. The corsa had bodykit parts fallling off all over the place. The VTS never had anything fall off on it in the year we had it

Only because some retard ripped the center dash panel off without releasing the dial clips. User error, not the cars fault.

Thing with saxos and corsas and their 'fast models' is typically they're gonna be owned by young lads who are gonna thrash the tits off them. You can find very good condition examples of both cars if you look and pay the price. Buy cheap, get cheap.

So, if you're mate Dave bought a VTR down the pub off Nigel for £800 and a bag of pork scratchings, then expect the body panels to be falling off.

He bought it from Citroen dealer brand new. Don't expect panels to come off BRAND NEW cars.

OMG I have never read sooooo much dog shite in one thread

The VTR will outhandle and out run a Corsa 1.6 16v both bottom end and top end.

I drove both on a daily basis and still occasionally drive a VTR.

My brothers mate with a VTR with a full exhaust system air filter and no back seats ran a 15.9 sec standing quarter. Some 1.6 16v's with Mantzels dont even make it into the 15's.

Basically it boils down to is, do wish to own a cult car which will be great fun (Saxo) or do you want to own the car with a nicer interior and better build quality? (Corsa)

Unfortunately with it being a Corsa site your not really going to get a balanced opinion.

Well from whats been said here i shall be looking for decent vtrs from now on, but I will still be looking for decent sports if i see one. Only problem is that both cars have some "chav" image (lord knows my old corsa complemented that) Yet to me the saxo is still very much jack the lad with 4 zorsts sticking out the back
