Lots of spare time to walk/play/train however work overseas 2 weeks out or 5.
Mrs able to feed/cuddle dog while im away though possibly be left alone during the day, little exercise.
I prefer medium/large size dogs so no jack russells or yorkies
Rottweiler to protect Jade However it may turn on her and maul her in her sleep

i take it you have no experience with rotties then they are like any dog they can bite but if you look into what a dog was breed for then you can learn alot of what to expect nature wise i.e a rottie was a farm dog for pulling carts (hence build ) herding and protector of the sheep and cattle at night similar to shepards, collies etc
husky was to pull and to hunt aswell as spending lots of time with the women and kids

Colin, ive got a border collie, ideal if you have lots of time spare to train etc, as they are allways learning, amazing cleaver (someones told me there the only breed that can think for themselves)
anyway, never walked on the lead, one walk a day, and all she is intrested in is chasing a tennis ball/stick (so you can just stand there, and let her get tired running )
i would suggest looking into it, they also cry/moan when they want to go for a walk/outside to shit etc, tis great, if they could open the door allmost fully independant

We looked after the inlaws Labrador last week.......dogs are great, but even better when you hand them back after a few days.
Walking round the village carrying a big bag of warm dog shit isn't that much fun.

Border Collies FTW Clever dogs. Mine managed to be able to open the gate, intended to keep it in, after about a week of it being there

I love huskies/samoyeds...but never having owned one, thats just for looks alone I guess they need to be in pairs at least?
I know my sisters dog (bearded collie) was a right handfull before they got another Beardie to keep her company
Colin, check out welsh springer spaniels...best/most friendly dogs ive ever known
