Downloaded it, listened to the 1st song which is worse than the mix that gets played on the music channels, listened to about 30 seconds a track up to track 8 then put it off, lot of shite.

I cant believe this 'bassline' genre

It is basically speed garage, but ive heard people calling it 'Niche' or bassline house aswel, WTF? i was listening to this stuff around 1997, its hardly changed!

This was and still is the best speed garage cd ever put together, every tune on there is top stuff and completely shows up the toilet people are putting out these days:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speed-Garage-Anthems-Vol-2-Underground/dp/B000024XW1

I suggest getting a copy of that instead of getting on this new 'Bassline' genre bandwagon.

Funny how The style originated in Sheffield in 2002, and rose to prominence during the mid-2000s

Bassline is one of many sub-genres of UK garage music, it mixes elements of speed garage, 4x4 garage and R&B.

Bassline also originated from the Niche nightclub which is why a lot fo people use Niche as a sort of nickname for the bassline genre.

Just depends on what you like tbh some people will like bassline others wont, if you dont fairplay your choice.

But my point is they are all basically Speed Garage, but someone has changed a minute element and feel it deserves its own name/genre?

I saw the bloke on tv who made that Heartbroken crock of shite, and he was going on about how he has made his own sound & genre, WTF? I dont think so mate

Plus garage isnt really around these days, very few places play it, its split into 4x4 garage and grime/dubstep/8bar.

Filthy Tech house is where its at

I've got a few Niche CD's, some are ok but others are pants.... Early stuff's ace, there aren't many 'good' tunes these days, music's moved on in my opinion. Boo...
