vti's are ek4's

type r's are ek9s

vti's are 160 bhp (sir (import)170)

type r's are 190 odd. iirc its the management thats different. both use the b16 engine.

as for tuning, id say its easier AND cheaper to get 200 form the vti. parts from america are stupid cheap especially with the exchange rate at the moment.

im looking into them at the moment. found that most decent ones are 3k plus(at least!)
