I had this conversation with my friend the other night, I would love to build another one but I can't really justify having one.

It would be used for a few shows a year and maybe the odd weekend, a lot of money to plow into something that will hardly be used.

I had no plans to ever sell mine but once it was robbed I can't really see my having another

That would be fine. There's always a clean sport on ebay with a fucked engine. Snap one of those up cheap

My conversion cost £1k not counting the exhaust (M-tech kit etc etc).

Cost of Brakes/Suspension/Exhaust.

So cheap and easy really

Teddy, I live on my own, don't do a hell of a lot of miles. I don't need a bigger car.

Engine wise, it's boring. Very flat. Nice gearbox, slick and short. Seats are small and uncomfy. Brakes aren't bad.

Handles very, very well.

I liked it, but have gone off it. It's just a boring car.

Yep thats true. Wont argue with that.
But owned it a year and apart from servicing it, not spent a penny. For a GTi i can nearly see 40mpg on a run so the cost kinda balances out.

Its not as "exciting" as my Corsa's granted, but its got a decent turn of pace and i dont feel like an idiot turning up to work in a suit in a stripped out Corsa, but like you say if it serves your purpose then go for it.

Looking forward to the Bora, give it a remap, deck it, 170-180bhp and can carry five people in comfort and still 50mpg!

Thats the other thing with the XE, the fuel consumption when not hammering it was pretty god damn good. Fiesta is nowhere near.
