No u2u's

I have been biking seriously for about 10 years. I also used to work in a more specialist bike shop (so non of this Halfords shizzle) for a good few years as mechanic. However I was better at sales and other such stuff.

You'll need a 26" wheel what ever. The rest goes on frame size.

If you're budget is about £300, you cannot go wrong with a Specialized Hardrock. Excellent bikes for the money, and hardly go wrong. If they do, Specialized are awesome with warranties. A good chain of stores to use, will be Evans Cycles. They are now huge, and deal with Specialized.

If you'd like any more questions, u2u me, as it'll be easier.

Willay - chains aren't generally universal. They are done on speed of the bike i.e. single speed, 24, 26 etc. If you're in the area, go to Marshall's Cycles in Stevenage, Welwyn or Hertford

For the guy who is asking, Just get a Specialized hardrock. Class bike, good for off road, and on road too (Might need some different tyres tho) But yeh, good all round bike, only like £300 for standard bike, decent spec tho.

No there not. They go on speed, Eg if you have 8 gears, then you need an 8 speed chain etc etc

In other words, count how many rings the back cassete has, thats the chain you need.

Can't afford £400??
The basic one retails at £275, I could do you one at £245, Shit hot bike at the money, 2008 Lana'i its called in Blue and White. Alloy frame, wheels etc, all quick release, front suspension, 24 speed rapidfire shifters. Sweet bike for the money!

Willay - Chains depend on how many gears you've got, 7 8 or 9spd. Decent chain's gonna cost you £10 - £15 I'll send you a chain for 5,6,7 or 8spd stuff including postage for a £9!

Anyone heard of Chicksands, or Chicksands Bike Park, or Beds Fat Trax?

I live about 20 mins away, so isn't as far as Santa Pod for SE guys. Keen to get a Corsasport biking thing going on.

Will be more the summer when dad is on holiday though

Near Shefford really.

http://www.bedsfattrax.org

Chicksands Bike Park as it has been renamed, is going places. There is a national points standard 4X track where National Points races are held.

There is also a dual course, dirt jumps, downhill course (race being held soon) and freeride area with Northshore

It's also looking at getting sponsored by some quite big names. I love living so close

What size do i need? They seem to go by wheel size and i don't want to buy a kiddies bike on ebay and look at twat collecting it

Is full frame suspension much better than just front? For road, and moderate dirt track use

thanks

buy mine mate

hardtail 26" but will easily take 24" wheels if you want to flick it round more.
is very light, had over a grand spent on it
